We have teamed up with what3words to help our guests find their holiday cottage more easily.
What3words is a global addressing system that has divided the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares and given each square 3 words from the dictionary to describe its location. For example, one of the properties can be found at ///goes.bonnet.lifeguard. The words may seem a little random - this is because the words are assigned by a mathematical algorithm. It places simpler and more commonly-used words in each language in the more populated areas where the language is spoken. That means that while ///goes.bonnet.lifeguard will take you to the front door of one of our properties, ///goes.bonnets.lifeguard would take you to the middle of Australia (which is pretty hard to confuse with North West Scotland!)
What3words can be used to direct guests to even the most rural locations, (which some of ours are), therefore, helps out greatly for where exactly they need to go.
Millions of people in the UK are using this handy FREE app and website to travel to precise locations, so if your ever out hiking or taking an adventure and your lost you can also use this app to get your precise location for quicker assistance. Anyone can use the what3words app or online map at what3words.com to find, search or share what3words addresses.
We have matched up each cottage/apartment with their individual 3 words and have placed this in your arrival instructions that you receive prior to arrival should you want to use it instead of google maps or the directions we give out.
Give it a go and see what you think!
