Autumn on the West Coast

Yes, we know Oban and its surrounding areas are pretty spectacular in the summer months, but don’t be fooled, the autumn months are just as impressive. With stunning local walks like Sutherlands Grove, Glen Nant Oakwoods and Feochan Forest. Local castles to explore from Dunollie Castle, Dunstaffnage Castle and Kilchurn Castle. Unique Islands like Easdale, Luing and Kerrera. There is so much to see in the ever-changing season, allowing you to see our area in a different light.

Autumn is kicked off with the Argyll Food Festival held at the Corran Halls on the 23rd and 24th September, a weekend of family fun, food, drink, and entertainment. Entry is just £3.00, under 16s free when accompanied by an adult. Corran Halls have many more events throughout October, link is below for you to explore:

Our new Community Centre ‘The Rockfield Centre’ hosts some wonderful events, provides food and delicious cakes in its café along with a dedicated play area for children allowing you some peace to enjoy your treats.

Why not check out Dunollie Museum and Castle, not only do they offer food, stunning views and local history. They offer Yoga at the Castle with an experienced instructor for a mindful yoga session and a stunning backdrop (beginners welcome). Piping at the Castle, every Sunday at 1.30pm you are joined by young, talented pipers giving that highland experience. Or why not attend the themed family event, Pirates, Mermaids and Ocean explores day on the 30th September. From treasure hunts, craft activities, workshops and fancy dress this will be a hit with the kids.
